Jim Strickland has practiced law since 1989 and now focuses on collections, family law (divorce, post-divorce, child support, child custody), guardianships for veterans, breach of contract, and other civil matters. He practices in State and Federal Court.

He was elected to the Memphis City Council in 2007 representing District 5.  Prior to joining his law partner, David Kustoff, in 1998, he worked at Glankler Brown, PLLC. From 1989-1990, he clerked for former Tennessee Supreme Court Justice William H.D. Fones. From 1989-1996, Strickland was an adjunct law professor at the University of Memphis.
He and his wife, Melyne, have two children.
